Product Owner II

The Product Owner II is responsible for gathering and documenting product requirements for
complex functionality from multiple sources and translating them into a comprehensive
solution. The Product Owner II will work closely with Product and Engineering to break down the
plan into actionable detailed stories, for multiple teams, that support the business and technical
direction of the company. The Product Owner II will also be responsible for delivering quality
software on time and communicating changes and enhancements to other departments assisting in
the role out plan. This is a key role within the Product Management team and will work with internal
and external stakeholders to assure a successful implementation of new or enhanced functionality.

Team Responsibilities:
• Prioritize and participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetings with your Scrum Teams
• Communicate with assigned product team members on schedules, and issues that affect
delivery and solution of software releases
• Work with Scrum Teams to execute on Sprint Objectives and attend sprint planning and
demo meetings to give feedback on sprint achievement
• Serve as a customer voice on new or already existing products
• Highlight product features in a manner clearly understandable to the development team
• Work with the team(s) on technical as well as business requirements and create
dependencies
• Facilitate project communication between teams

New or Enhanced Feature Creation and Decomposition Responsibilities:
• Break-down project requirements into Epics and Stories to be consumed by the teams
• Identify gaps in workflow and missing requirements on large projects
• Work with product and architecture to identify and document technical risks on new
projects
• Act as liaison between technical and business resources, and help mitigate and manage
conflicts, risks, and issues.
• Manage and develop a product epic backlog, as well as a prioritized user stories backlog
for implementation
• Perform risk analysis across SCRUM teams and departments to ensure product and
delivery alignment
• Serve as a product expert on all the product features within the tribe
• Assure a consistent user experience for the entire product
• Gather estimates to determine when a feature will be delivered

Communication and Requirement Gathering Responsibilities:
• Assist the technical communication team to create effective documentation that outlines the
customer challenge, product feature, and benefit / value to the customer.
• Defect Escalation Contact
• Keep in touch with Product Managers to gauge the needs and interest in the product
initiatives
• Contact customers and end users to obtain information on expected product features
• Conduct System Demos to gather and implement feedback on newly released features
• Provide reports to update management and stakeholders on product development
operations
• Analyze customer opinions and feedback to determine features or components that will add
value to a product
• Set-up and manage customer pilot programs to review new functionality
• Review defects regularly and assign them to the proper team and work with the PM to
prioritize them in the backlog
• Conduct a post-mortem to identify lessons learned as applicable to each release
• Actively engage and suggest process improvements

Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience with demonstrated success as a Software Product Owner or
comparable experience
• Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas:
• SAS Products
• Mobile Products
• UX/UI Design
• Automotive Industry
• 1+ years on the job Agile methodologies, experience working in SAFe a plus
• Experience and understanding of the automotive ecosystem including OEMs, dealers,
national agencies and regional associations is a plus.
• Track record for excellent collaboration with team members regarding product knowledge,
decomposition of requirements, delivery and enhancement
• Attention to detail, superior time management
• Understanding of VersionOne, MS Suite, DealerSocket Suite of Products a plus
• Product Owner Certification a plus
